Six takeaways from Saturday's game...

1) This was the first time in Yankees-Red Sox history where both teams scored six runs in the first inning, which was highlight by Aaron Hicks blasting the first MLB home run in London with a two-run shot off Rick Porcello. It was also just the third time in MLB history where both starting pitchers allowed six-plus runs and were unable to get out of the first inning.

2) DJ LeMahieu continued to set the tone for the Yankees' lineup, leading off the game with a single and extending his hitting streak to 13 games. His four hits on the day extend his multi-hit streak to five games and improved his AL-best batting average to .342. He also drove in five runs, including a three-run double in the fifth inning with two outs, giving him 32 two-out RBI on the season.

3) Aaron Judge gave London a taste of his power, too. The Yankees' slugger smashed an opposite-field two-run home run in the fourth inning and finished the day 2-for-4 before being lifted for Mike Tauchman late in the game.

4) Luke Voit also had himself a day, going 4-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI, but he left the game in the fifth inning due to a core strain injury while rounding first base.

5) Brett Gardner came through with perhaps the biggest hit of the game, breaking a 6-6 tie in the third inning with a two-run jack to give the Yankees a lead they would not relinquish.

6) While the offense was the story of this game, the Yankees have to be encouraged by what they saw out of Chad Green again. The right-hander relieved Masahiro Tanaka and tossed two scoreless innings while allowing four hits. In his last 11 games, Green has allowed just one run in 15 innings pitched while striking out 24 and walking just one.

What's next

The Yankees and Red Sox will play again in London on Sunday. Lefty Stephen Tarpley (0-0, 6.48 ERA) will make his first start for the Yankees. The Red Sox will send LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (8-4, 4.87 ERA) to the mound with the first pitch scheduled for 10:10 a.m. ET.
