Mets manager Carlos Mendoza thought Brandon Sproat was "impressive" in his big league debut, especially mixing in his secondary pitches behind in the count. Sproat himself felt he didn't have his best stuff but was determined to keep the team in the game. He did acknowledge that his four walks allowed were not ideal but he also tipped his cap to Reds starter Hunter Greene for his overwhelming  performance which was "cool' to watch.
