Who is starting for the Brewers?

LHP Gio Gonzalez is making his 2019 debut. After a slow offseason for the veteran lefty, who is quite familiar with facing the Mets following his tenure with the Nationals, he signed a Minor League deal with the Yankees. He opted out of that contract last week when no rotation spot in the Majors opened up for him.

In three starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilke-Barre, Gonzalez allowed 10 earned runs over 15 frames. In 17 career starts at Citi Field, he owns a 1.75 ERA.

Who is starting for the Mets?

LHP Steven Matz. Had it not been for that disastrous outing in Philadelphia, in which he gave up eight earned runs in the first inning, Matz would easily have the case for most consistent Mets starter thus far. Plus, he'd be 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA.
