Is another NBA stint in the cards for Jeremy Lin?

The former Knicks point guard and author of the Linsanity era of Knicks basketball announced on his Instagram Tuesday that he will not be returning to the Beijing Ducks of the CBA as he eyes a shot at an NBA comeback.

“Despite being beyond grateful with sooo much that the CBA, China, and all my Asia fans gave me this past season, today I decided to not return to the Beijing Ducks next season,” Lin said in a heartfelt post. “Instead I will be waiting for free agency and preparing myself for the NBA -- and continuing my greatest dream.”

The 32-year-old guard played in 39 games for the Ducks this past season, averaging 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists, shooting 33.8 percent from beyond the arc. Lin was an All-Star and also earned CBA Defensive Player of the Year honors.

The Harvard product last played in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors in 2018-19. The Raptors went on to win the NBA title, but Lin was a very small part of the championship team, playing just 18.8 minutes per game in 23 regular-season games while being a non-factor in the playoffs, barely seeing any playing time.

He’s averaged 11.6 points and 2.2 assists per game in his nine NBA seasons, but he’s most well known for his emergence with the Knicks in 2011-12, when he had a 10-game span in which he scored at least 20 points nine times. In the heat of Linsanity, Lin led the Knicks to seven straight wins, including a seven-point victory over Kobe Bryant and the Lakers at the Garden in which Lin scored 38 points.

Lin has bounced around the league, playing with eight different NBA teams, but he’s now hopeful that at least one more team will give him a shot.
